As of April 2025, the government have enforced that we have to offer free funding to every child, however we are told by the Department for Education this funding does not cover any meals (food), consumables or enhanced provision so we are able to charge for these. We believe our curriculum is Enhanced and we offer a lot to our children and so our consumables charges allow us to fulfil that. Our new guidance informs us that all children receiving funded entitlement must be given the option to opt out of consumable charges. If you are adding on hours and are paying our hourly charge, you will not need to opt out of consumables as they are included in our hourly fee.

 

Our consumables going forward will be and invoiced monthly:

Half Day - £2.00 This includes all food, consumables and enhanced provision (See below)

Full Day - £3.50 This includes all food, consumables and enhanced provision (See below)

If you choose to opt out of our consumables charge we will require you to bring in the following on the days we request due to the activities we are doing that week, these include but are not limited to:

Nappies, Wipes, Nappy creams, Nappy bags, Sunscreen, Junior paracetamol, Piriton

Food – Snack every day (following our guidelines) fresh fruit, biscuits, all types of milk (if not drinking cows milk), sweets for treats.

 

The following list is classed as the Enhanced Provision and we are told by the Department for Education are not covered by the government funding, these include but are not limited to:
